Does your business have a website? Being that the year is 2014, your website should be a carefully maintained and manicured asset of your company, because if it isn’t, you can say goodbye to a lot of your customers. Which brings us to the question of the day: How do you increase website traffic? The pitter-patter of footsteps in your brick-and-mortar store will only follow bustling website traffic and it’s your job to steer customers in the right direction. Here are three tips to get you certified in website traffic control.

Is your website traffic like a parking lot?

Is your website traffic like a parking lot?

1. Video, video, video

According to Inc.com, potential customers should know within three to five seconds what the company is and what it does. That’s not a lot of time to make customers pull the brakes and take a look around. In order to increase website traffic, grab a potential customer with a visual aid that they can’t help but pay attention to. quick demo video that shows what your company can do for the customer, or a message from the CEO, instead of how great you are will cater to their interests.

2. Make information easy to access

You know those websites that require you to fill out a form that looks similar to an employment application? The point of website traffic is not to see how long you can keep a single customer filling out pointless information; instead, you want to increase website traffic by getting satisfied customers what they need and encouraging them to spread the word. If a customer wants more information and/or to contact you, make the form easy and simple to fill out.

3. Quality content

If your site is so focused on increasing website traffic that it’s a cluster of repetitive keywords, you’re in trouble. A website is best received if it consists of quality content that is relevant and modern. Create a site that is strong in content not only on each page, but in a blog as well which is well-designed to keep traffic continuously moving; nobody likes a parking lot.
