I really enjoyed reading Elizabeth’s newest mystery novel, The Shaman and The Mafia. I loved how it took one crime incident and created a fast-paced love story filled with lots of other unique situations and happenings. Here’s a preview from the book:

Upton says she never reads crime or mystery novels anymore because she doesn’t want them to influence her own writing. The uniqueness of her characters mixed with experiences from her own life created a fantastic narrative unlike any you’ve read before.
Before writing her first novel, Secrets of a Nun: My Own Story, Upton was a successful youth counselor, social worker and probation officer for more than 30 years. A former nun herself, she shares a lot of traits with The Shaman and The Mafia’s main character, Marietta Collins.
