When is the last time you saw someone with a cellphone that wasn’t smart? According to a study from the Pew Research Center, 77 percent of the US population owns one and uses it for 60 percent of all social media activities.
Those numbers have marketers sitting up and taking notice, especially when you consider ads on social media generate click-through rates 20 percent higher than traditional website banners and pop-ups.

- Roughly 63 percent of the budget for global digital ads went to mobile in 2018
- By 2020, global ad spending on mobile could reach $247 billion
- That’s more than double the amount spend on mobile ads on 2016
