During the holiday seasons, businesses come up with creative and festive commercials to entice shoppers to buy their products. One of the most successful holiday campaigns has been from Honda. The Twitter account for Honda was recently taken over by cartoon villain Skeletor, who proved he knew how to handle a social media account.   1. Be Social

While Skeletor was taking over the Twitter account, he called out other accounts such as People Magazine, Burger King and Best Buy. By mentioning other Twitter accounts, Skeletor was doing exactly what social media is meant for: interacting with others and being social. Interacting with other users is a great way to communicate with followers and widen your account’s fan base.

  1. Use of Visuals

Another element of social media that Skeletor did well was his use of visuals. To accompany most of his tweets, images were used to help convey his message. While most were to disparage He Man, they received hundreds of likes and shares. Social media posts that contain videos and pictures have a higher rate of interaction among followers. Make the most out of your social media content by using images and text rather than just text alone.

  1. Use of Hashtags

Skeletor made it easy for Twitter followers to track his content by creating a hashtag just for his posts. While using his specially created hashtag (#Skeletakover), he also joined in on popular trends such as “#ManCrushMonday” and “#Doppelganger.” Creating and using hashtags is a great way for followers to track your posts and stay current on news your company may have.
