Across the board it is pretty fun to get new social media followers. Pinterest allows you to have followers while displaying your organization along with a sense of creativity. When people want to share your “pin” or “board” on their own social media, it is totally acceptable for you to feel proud of your engagement with Pinterest followers.
There now is something that makes getting a new follower even more exciting—knowing your new fan can make you money since 47% of U.S. online shoppers have made purchases based on Pinterest recommendations alone!
Obviously you want to increase your number of Pinterest followers, and here are a few ways to do just that:
- Connect your Social Media Platforms: Most likely you are already using Facebook and Twitter. Connecting those profiles to your Pinterest account will bring in your already established followers. Pinterest produces four times more revenue per click than Twitter and 27% more than Facebook. Converting your other social media followers into Pinterest followers will most likely increase your sales.
- Help a Board Out: You can actually invite some of your Pinterest followers to contribute to your boards. These boards will then show up to their followers which grows your exposure. The way you organize your board placement makes a difference as well—put the most popular boards towards the top of the queue, so that it is easy for current or potential followers to find them (and of course choose a smashing photo as your board’s cover shot!).
- Figure Out What the 411 is: Go to pinterest.com/source/yourdomain to see what content your followers are pinning. You can use this information to cater towards their needs and put out the desired content for your Pinterest followers. It also is a good idea to browse the popular page of Pinterest to see what people are looking at in general. It may not fit your company goals exactly, but seeing the trends may help you and bring in a few extra followers!
